Authentic Positioning

You're tempted to sound like everyone else. "We're the leading provider of …" or a tagline that could fit any competitor. Authentic positioning is building your market position on genuine domain expertise and visible presence—not manufactured messaging. It's who you actually are, what you've actually done, and how you show up in the market. OQVA backs founders who position authentically because it's sustainable and defensible; you're not keeping up a character.

Same niche, different anchor. Two coaches target "first-time leaders." One builds a generic "clarity and accountability" brand. The other has spent 10 years leading teams, writes from real experience, and says "I help first-time VPs avoid the mistakes I made." The second is founder visibility plus positioning—authentic. The first is interchangeable. Authentic positioning attracts the right clients and repels the wrong ones. It also holds up under scrutiny.

Position from what's true. Amplify it. Don't invent a persona.

How it connects

Coherence. When your positioning, offer, team, and market are aligned with what you actually do and believe, the system holds. Coherence is internal alignment; authentic positioning is the positioning piece of that.

Authority and visibility. You build authority by showing your work, your thinking, and your results—not by claiming credentials you don't have. Content and presence that reflect real experience compound; manufactured claims don't.
